Job Responsibilities

Our Environmental Lab Chemist is responsible for the routine analysis of samples by Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectroscopy and Inductively Coupled Plasmas-Mass Spectroscopy to determine inorganic properties including metal concentration.  In addition, our Lab Chemist will serve as a back up analyst for other areas of the laboratory including Flow Injection Analysis, Sample Receipt and Preparation, Sample Digestion for Trace Metals Analysis, and TCLP/SPLP Extractions.  

Key responsibilities of this position include the maintenance and improvement of the management system, completion of sample preparations, analysis of samples following standardized corporate procedures, writing/reviewing reports based on obtained analytical results, calibrating and utilizing instrumentation, completion of all paperwork associated with analyses such as calibration logs, run logs and traceability of reagents, training less experienced members of the lab and other duties as assigned by management.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment, possess superior organizational skills coupled with a strong attention to detail and have a working understanding of math and chemistry.  

 

Education Requirements

B.S or B.A. degree in Chemistry or Biology; or equivalent laboratory experience is preferred.
